Giveaway |
| While a small auto dealership enjoyed a consistent
patronage, it still wanted to gain increased name exposure, believing
that there's no such thing as being too well known. To achieve its
goal, the dealership distributed a very visible product - brake light
decals. Each decal had a clear background and firmly affixed to any
car's brake lights by means of static electricity. Once applied, the
decal could even be seen at night. The decal was easily removed and
relocated, too. |

Promotional Distribution, Thank-You Gifts |
| Jim Harter, owner of the painting shop, developed a
logo incorporating the shop's name and placed it on caps, T-shirts,
and satin jackets. The items were then given to customers upon
completion of a customizing job. The T-shirts are distributed most
often and the jackets and caps are given to frequent or long time
customers. Every time he attends an auto race he sees his shirts all
over the place. |

"The New Seville" |
| A Cadillac dealership offered a target audience of
prospective luxury car owners an incentive to test drive the new
Seville. The direct-mail offer promised the prospective buyers a
four-piece glass coffee mug set in return for coming to the
dealership to drive the new model. The mugs simply included the
Cadillac wreath logo, without copy, in satin etch. As a result of
the promotion, the dealer reported a 100-percent increase in test
drives over the previous year.
