Promotional Distribution |
| To raise funds for the local team, the women's club got
sponsors together to create a spirit handkerchief. It was red cloth
and imprinted with the team's name and logo, and the names of the five
local area firms which sponsored the team. The handkerchiefs were sold
at the games. They made about $2,000 from the sales. |

Giveaway |
| A neighborhood watch program wanted to encourage local
residents to make themselves more crime-resistant by identifying their
belongings before they were stolen. To convey the importance of its
message, the program distributed engraving pens to those in their
community. The pens featured a diamond point that could indelibly etch
a name or identification number into products ranging from television
sets to radios to lawnmowers. The imprinted pens featured the group's
logo and message. Warning stickers, noting that all valuables inside
were identified and could be traced, were also distributed. |

Thank-You Gifts |
| When a women's auxiliary had to raise the attendance
cost of its annual formal fundrasing banquet by almost $100, the
organization wanted to thank those donors who continued to attend
despite the price increase. While the previous year, the auxiliary
distributed silk scarves as thank-you gifts, the increase in price
warranted a better-quality gift. To improve upon its last the
auxiliary distributed wool and silk scarves to its donor attendees.
The scarves were full-sized (8 inches by 60 inches), unisex scarves,
with fringed edges, which were faced on one side with silk, the
other in soft pure lambswool. Subtle imprinting kept the
organization's efforts in the recipients' minds. |
