| To promote Water Week in New Zealand, an MNOP custom
one-color KINDERTOO was produced and distributed to all elementary
school children. During the many educational and entertainment
activities scheduled to coincide with Water Week, thousands of safe,
non-toxic temporary tattoos brought fun, education and appreciation of
water conservation and proper water usage to the children. The idea of
using MNOP tattoos to help promote a special event has been a
successful ongoing promotion, year after year. |

In response to the accidental deaths of a
bicyclist and pedestrian in the early evening hours, "A Safer
Ramapo" was conceived. Ten thousand theme imprinted fluorescent
reflective safety sashes were distributed free to any Ramapo
resident who requested one. Letters were sent to every resident.
Local newspaper and radio stations helped publicize the effort
through public service announcements. Although the program was
funded through contributions, the town council was so pleased with
the results it resolved to allocate money to pay for additional
sashes if more contributions were not forthcoming.

| The Governor's Office for Citizens' Affairs, in the
state of North Carolina, wanted to recognize the state's volunteers
and encourage the help of others. The theme, "North Carolina:
State of the Hearts" was developed for this program. The logo,
which consisted of a heart with the word, "Volunteer,"
enclosed in it, was printed on posters, roll labels and bumper
stickers. Volunteers hung the 14-inch by 22-inch red posters in their
organizations, businesses and association offices. Volunteers also
received matching bumper stickers as a gesture of appreciation. The
roll labels were placed on all literature and correspondence from the
governor's office. Additional bumper stickers were distributed by the
County Board of Education. These were specifically designed to
recognize those who were "Proud To Be A School Volunteer."
Because of the visibility of these items, the program succeeded in
gaining volunteers the respect they deserved. The number of people who
donated their time also increased as a result of the promotion. The
state not only benefitted from the volunteers, but developed a
friendly image from their "State of the Hearts" theme. |
