K-Paul, the famous New Orleans restaurant decided to offer a variety of specialty items for sale across the country. They included all of the items in their mail order catalog. The various imprints included the company name, Cajun Magic seasoning, cayenne peppers, andouille sausage, chow-chow, and others. The catalog sales account for 10percent to 15 percent of business.

The program consisted of a set of four glass mugs, each bearing two Garfield cartoons and the McDonald's logo. They were available for 79 cents with the purchase of a breakfast or sandwich before 11am or with the purchase of a sandwich after 4pm. The promotion ran four consecutive weeks with a different mug offered each week. In a small regional test area, over 1,000 sets were given out.

Porcelain plates featuring the restaurant's name and a scene from a painting that was also the trademark of the restaurant was placed on each table. They were used as presentation dishes and kept there throughout the pre-dinner cocktails. Once the meal came, however, they were removed. The plates were not for sale, but were presented to special or frequent customers. They were very well received.
